Orphanage Child Care Is Our Main Focus!!!
The Love Company was founded only for the social benefit. Our mission is to create a global understanding by encouraging volunteers to assist with our community development Orphanage Child Care Program and youth mobilization programs.
Please read our volunteers testimonials!!!
The mission of our teaching program is to mobilize its volunteers to overcome potential limitations in government and private educational institutes across Nepal. Due to the financial constraints associated with the proposed higher secondary educational system, many schools lack trained teachers and educational materials. TLC Nepal deploys its volunteers to schools in need in an effort to enhance the overall level of education provided to Nepali children.
Focus on English Education in the Classroom: TLC Nepal aims to play an important role in the development of English education because English is an internationally spoken language. It is therefore a critical skill for Nepali people. Due to the lack of experienced/skilled/trained/native English teachers, students in schools nation-wide face a dilemma regarding the proper pronunciation, intonation, and grammar required to speak and write English.
Volunteer teachers will be placed in schools where they can serve, not only as classroom teachers, but also as advisors and facilitators for Nepali teachers who are teaching English. Additional Subject-Related Education: Volunteers who are interested in teaching in subject areas other than English may do so if they are placed at a private school, where all subjects (except Nepali) are taught in English. These might include math, science, environment, computers, geography, social studies, or vocational subjects.
Extra curricular Activities: Beyond classroom education, physical and mental activities also play a vital role in the overall development of students. Thus, we also make necessary arrangements for skilled teachers to provide training in sports, music, dance, art and so forth. Volunteers have the opportunity to create or coordinate additional after-school programs, events, or activities in conjunction with their local community partner’s interests and needs.
The project we are currently running is in The Love Company Orphanage, a non for profit orphanage that requires the help of volunteers to provide the love and support that is necessary in the development of every child’s life.
We have 14 kids aged between the ages of 4-12, three of whom are former street children and five are orphans from mountain villages. They all come from very varied and distressing backgrounds, but their needs are all the same; love, care , medical and schooling. All our kids are healthy and happy (as you can see on our ‘Gallery’ page) but need a lot of love!
The orphanage was founded to service and house displaced children from remote farming villages that surround this picturesque area. We have many children on our waiting list who need our help, but urgently need help from volunteers to support our organization and help us look after even more children. We receive no government or charity funding and all of the money we receive in volunteer fees goes directly to help our project, with no middle men taking their cut or expensive administration fees.
The orphanage is situated in beautiful Pokhara in Nepal. Pokhara is the gateway for most trekking trips in Nepal and is set on a lake, surrounded by beautiful mountains. Previous volunteers have found it a relaxing, friendly and fascinating place to stay and explore Nepal from and have volunteer with us before or after their trek to get to see more of the ‘real’ Nepal.
